The journal accepts research submissions that contribute to sustainable development, governance studies, public policy, and multidisciplinary scholarly work.

Sustainable Development Areas

The journal welcomes submissions of quality research in any of the following sustainable development areas:

Education Governance. This relates to the discussion of emerging trends and issues which affect or influence the country’s initiatives to achieve the targets of SDG 4 - Quality Education. This includes, but is not limited to, inclusive education, educational leadership, curriculum development, educational technology and innovations, policy and evaluation studies in education, lifelong learning, basic education, vocational education, and higher education.

Health Governance. This relates to the discussion of emerging trends and issues which affect or influence the country’s initiatives to achieve SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being and SDG 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation. This includes, but is not limited to, global health issues, the interplay between health and development, partnerships for addressing health issues, recent trends in health care and public health, innovative health systems, health promotion and communication, health system resilience, and leadership and management in health governance.

Environment Governance. This relates to the discussion of emerging trends and issues which affect or influence the country’s environmental sustainability, particularly SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 13 - Climate Action, SDG 14 - Life Below Water, and SDG 15 - Life on Land. This includes, but is not limited to, biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, marine biodiversity, potential energy sources and services, forest management, environmental problems and challenges, sustainable use of oceans, conservation, restoration and sustainable use of terrestrial and inland freshwater ecosystems, conservation of mountain ecosystems, and diversity protection.

Social Governance. This relates to the in-depth analysis of emerging trends and issues that deal with SDG 1 - No Poverty, SDG 2 - Zero Hunger, SDG 5 - Gender Equality, SDG 10 - Reduced Inequalities, SDG 16 - Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals. This includes, but is not limited to, gender and development, gender-related challenges, equality studies, vulnerability reduction initiatives, peace education, social innovation, intersectoral and international linkages, poverty reduction, food security, sustainable agriculture, nutrition, responsible migration, fiscal, wage and social protection policies, social inclusion, violence-reduction initiatives, triangular regional and international cooperation, equitable multilateral trading systems, policy and institutional coherence, and multi-stakeholder partnerships.

Economic and Infrastructure Governance. This relates to the thorough understanding of recent trends and emerging issues in SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9 - Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, SDG 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 12 - Responsible Production and Consumption. This includes, but is not limited to, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, the formalization and growth of micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises, sustainable tourism, labor force development, youth employment, domestic technology development, creation of sustainable and resilient infrastructure, access to information and communications technology, public procurement policies, corporate sustainability, sustainable transport systems, inclusive and sustainable urbanization, and conservation of cultural and natural heritage.

Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmarinas’ Dasmarinas Journal of Sustainable Governance publishes research articles in English or Filipino. English translations of the title, abstract, and keywords must be provided by the authors for manuscripts written in Filipino.

Accepted Languages

Research articles may be written in English or Filipino.

English Translation Requirement

Filipino manuscripts must include English translations of the title, abstract, and keywords.

Biannual Publication Schedule

Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmarinas’ Dasmarinas Journal of Sustainable Governance publishes articles on a biannual basis, with two (2) issues released each calendar year (June and December).

  • Frequency The journal follows a biannual publication basis.
  • Total Issues Two (2) issues are released every calendar year.
  • Release Months The regular publication months are June and December.

First Issue - June: The first issue is released in June within the same calendar year.

Second Issue - December: The second issue is released in December to complete the biannual publication cycle.
