The Dasmariñas Journal of Sustainable Governance (DJSG) adopts the Contributor Role Taxonomy (CRediT) to ensure transparent and accurate attribution of each author's contribution to a submitted manuscript. All authors are required to declare their specific roles at the time of submission.
To qualify as an author, an individual must have made a meaningful contribution to at least one CRediT role and must take accountability for the work. Listing individuals who did not contribute substantively, or omitting those who did, constitutes a breach of publication ethics.
Contributions from persons who do not meet authorship criteria (e.g., general administrative support, language editing) should be acknowledged in a separate Acknowledgments section, not attributed as authorship.
Authors must assign one or more of the following roles to each contributor. A single contributor may hold multiple roles; a single role may be shared by several contributors.
| Conceptualization | Formulation of research ideas and objectives |
| Methodology | Design of research methods and study protocols |
| Software | Development or programming of tools and models |
| Validation | Verification and replication of results |
| Formal analysis | Application of statistical or analytical techniques |
| Investigation | Conducting the research and collecting evidence |
| Resources | Provision of materials, instruments, or datasets |
| Data curation | Management and annotation of research data |
| Writing – original draft | Initial preparation of the manuscript |
| Writing – review & editing | Critical revision and final preparation |
| Visualization | Creation of figures, charts, and data displays |
| Supervision | Oversight and leadership of the research activity |
| Project administration | Coordination and management of the project |
| Funding acquisition | Securing financial support for the research |
Authors must include a Contributorship Statement at the end of the manuscript, after the Acknowledgments section. Roles should be listed per contributor using the standardized CRediT labels above.
The corresponding author is responsible for obtaining consent from all co-authors regarding the accuracy of the contributorship statement prior to submission. Any changes to authorship or contributor roles after submission must be formally requested and approved by the editorial board.
Cases of authorship disputes, ghost authorship, or gift authorship will be handled in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The editorial board reserves the right to reject or retract manuscripts found to be in violation of this policy.
