Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas

The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) is a newly established institution of higher learning fully funded by the local government of Dasmariñas, Cavite, under the leadership of the late Congressman Elpidio “Pidi” Barzaga Jr. and Mayor Jennifer Austria-Barzaga. The institution currently offers six (6) degree programs with corresponding Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC) issued by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), namely: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology, BS in Information Systems, BS in Midwifery, BS in Life Sciences, BS in Nursing, and BS in Civil Engineering. In addition, KLD has four (4) degree programs with Recognition of Regional Permit Authority (RRPA), signifying initial compliance with CHED requirements, namely: BS in Social Work, BS in Medical Technology, BS in Data Science, and BS in Computer Science.

In the coming academic years, KLD also plans to expand its academic offerings through the introduction of additional degree programs, namely: BS in Construction Engineering Technology, BS in Development Communication, BS in Radiologic Technology, BS in Disaster and Emergency Management, BS in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Doctor of Medicine.

As part of the institution’s strategic direction toward research productivity and academic engagement, KLD officially launched its first multidisciplinary research journal during the 2nd Dasmariñas Research Congress on April 30, 2025. Guided by its vision and mission, KLD remains committed to contributing to the city’s knowledge-based economy through quality research and scholarly publication. The establishment of this journal likewise serves as a testament to KLD’s commitment to complying with CHED Memorandum Order No. 46, Series of 2012, which states that higher education institutions must ensure that faculty members “participate in research and development activities in their respective disciplines as evidenced by refereed publications and other scholarly outputs” (CMO No. 46, s. 2012, Sec. 23.3).
